At the midpoint of every season, there are two types of fantasy managers: those who have enough healthy starters to compensate for players' bye weeks, and those who don't. If you're crushing it, congratulations; you've earned it. If you're like me and barely above .500, gritting my teeth while starting both Jeremiyah Love and teammate Tyler Allgeier -- hoping they'll get 16+ points combined -- then good luck rolling the dice on whatever risks you need to take.
And if you're trying to claw your way to respectability, projected to lose by 40+ points, it might be time to drop those weekly streamers who are hurt or on a bye and go for broke with some boom-bust options in potentially high-scoring games. Last year in Week 8, Joe Flacco was the QB5 with 24.3 points. Kimani Vidal was the RB8 with 19.7 points. Troy Franklin was the WR1 with 26.9 points.
Winning is always possible, no matter how bad the odds.
Also, today is my 300th episode of the FF4W daily podcast. Most episodes are no longer than eight minutes. If there's a topic that really interests you, ping me, and if I can find an interesting angle, I'll do an episode on it.
Good luck today.
