So far in 2026, teams are averaging the most points per game (23.1) in six years and the fifth-most in league history. Meanwhile, quarterbacks are throwing interceptions on 2.1% of their passes. If it the season ended today, it would mark the lowest interception rate in league history.
Teams are averaging 7.5 accepted penalties per game -- the highest average since 1948. Teams are also averaging 10.9 offensive drives per game, which is the fourth-fewest in history. In fact, the seven "fewest offensive drive" averages have all occurred in these past seven years. Teams' 2.08 points per drive is the third-largest in history.
Teams are also averaging 109.8 rushing yards per game, which is the lowest in nine years and the fourth-lowest this century. The NFL's 4.2 yards per carry is also the lowest in nine years.
This is where we are entering Sunday, Week 7. Ping me if you want to bounce anything around, and good luck today.
