Among the nine highest-scoring Week 1 wide receivers, four are hurt: Chris Olave (questionable), Zay Flowers (out), Nico Collins (out), and DJ Moore (exited early on Thursday). Based on preseason ADP, five of the 15 highest-ranked WRs are hurt.
But among running backs, pretty much everyone is good to go, including the 22 highest-scoring Week 1 RBs and the top-25 RBs based on preseason ADP.
As shared here and on the podcast over the summer, last year's top-10 preseason RBs were the healthiest (fewest missed games) since before 2012, while WRs were collectively the least healthy (most missed games) since 2020. My thinking was that these were statistical anomalies and weren't easily replicable. Instead, the first 11 days of the regular season have been a continuation of 2025.
Final thoughts early this morning: If you drafted Bijan Robinson, keep an eye on his workload, because he's headed to Green Bay on Thursday. With the #1 WRs out for the Ravens, Texans, and Patriots, could their 30+ year-old tight ends -- Mark Andrews, Dalton Schultz, and Hunter Henry -- be among this week's fantasy heroes?
The Cardinals were my favorite underrated team this summer, leading me to push most of their skill players ahead of their ADPs, I believe they'll beat Seattle today, which would be one of the biggest NFL stories tomorrow morning. Despite a brutal schedule, they'll face the Jets, Saints, and Raiders during the fantasy playoffs. It's not too late to buy low on Jeremiyah Love and Michael Wilson.
Finally, my podcast episode today focuses on what I believe will be *another* huge NFL story tomorrow: the Colts' impending fantasy implosion. The impact on 10%-20% of managers would be huge.
Good luck today.
