As we cross the halfway point of the fantasy regular season, we're also approaching the NFL trade deadline, which means today might mark the final time one or more fantasy-relevant players competes on their current team.
Compounding this is the strange fact that many of today's matchups are between teams with wildly different playoff prospects. Of the nine 1pm and 4pm Eastern contests, six games feature teams separated by at least 2 1/2 games (e.g. 5-2 vs. 2-4). The 2-5 Browns, 1-6 Dolphins, 1-6 Titans, 1-6 Saints, and winless Jets are strong sell candidates. Several of them are among a handful of teams currently over the 2026 salary cap. In other words, they'll need to shed salary before next summer, providing an extra incentive to get something in return now.
Miami in particular faces its own conundrum, because they also play on Thursday -- their final game before the trade deadline. Can De'Von Achane be trusted in both. No easy/obvious answers.
Good luck today.
