PFFL, Rankings, and Extra Advice

Yesterday we wrapped up 32 Teams in 32 Days. Have done them each year since 2016. Initially it was partly self-motivation to research every player so I'd know what the heck I was talking about. And maybe that's still partly the reason. But of course it's also setting the stage for the upcoming season--what we might expect and what we still don't know enough about. And the "don't know enough about" is the most important part. Because if we can identify misguided bandwagon thinking, we can veer away before it pulls us in.

Three site-related notes, and tomorrow we'll dive into preseason analyses.

First, we're gearing up for the sixth season of the FF4W Premier Fantasy Football League. 168 managers competing for glory (no money; it's all free). One manager said he might have too much on his plate; he's letting me know this coming week. If you're the type of person who'd love to compete against 167 other smart fantasy people, ping me if you want the spot that might open up.

Second, a reminder that my preseason rankings (also started in 2016) are available to subscribers. Details down below. Top 400 players updated daily and often several times per day, laid out in a spreadsheet that includes their age, ADP, and the extent to which I think drafters should reach early or fade. As always, donate whatever you want. If you've never seen them and want to donate, start small. If you like it, then next summer donate what it's worth to you. A couple hundred of you subscribe each summer; many of you have been subscribing for years.

Third, for those of you who play to win and take no solace in second place--including any of you in high-stakes leagues with fierce competition--consider signing up for "Extra Advice" (details down below). Terrible name for it, I realize. Maybe it should be Premium Services. Or maybe The Winners Circle. I don't know. If you have a suggestion, even an awful one, shout it out.

I'm providing eight extra services this year and want to briefly highlight three of them. One is a weekly RB handcuff rankings report. Each week you'll receive an e-mail not only rank-ordering handcuffs, but also explaining *why* they're listed that way. Last summer I ranked De'Von Achane 14 spots ahead of his ADP, making him a prime glorified handcuff to target. Similar stories for Jerome Ford (26 spots ahead of his ADP), Kyren Williams (45 spots), Zamir White (115 spots), and Keaton Mitchell (300+ spots). Some of these RBs were on most waiver wires when last season began. So this weekly report aims to make us a little savvier about which backup RBs to pick up.

Another service is a no-limit phone strategy session. Pick my brain for an hour or two or (yes) more if we can plan ahead of time. We can talk through your upcoming drafts, waiver strategy, etc. Or if you start off with a 2-4 record and need to shake things up, send me everyone's roster, and I'll hop on the phone and walk through fair-yet-advantageous trades you can make with each opponent.

Finally, there's unlimited texting. You'll get my attention in real time (basically anytime 7am to 11pm EST), and I'll respond somewhere between quickly and immediately. Sit/starts, waivers, trades, etc. Or if you're drafting next week, schedule a time to text with me before or during the draft. I'll share my thoughts round by round if that's what it takes. If you've paid for my services, you know the value. I push myself pretty hard, and that means I treat your team as if it were my own.

The preseason has begun and player values are about to shift wildly. We'll get into the thick of it these next 32 days starting tomorrow.
