There's some overnight news on key players, including Tyler Lockett, who should be good to go against Cleveland. I'm starting D.K. Metcalf in my flex spot, but am not thrilled about it. The ascending Jaxon Smith-Njigba -- and even potential spoiler Jake Bobo -- could make this a tough receiving corps to bet on the rest of the season, and particularly against tough defenses like the Browns.
Elsewhere, Jerome Ford and Zack Moss appear to be true game-time decisions. The impacts on Kareem Hunt and Jonathan Taylor are obvious. Less obvious is whether Pierre Strong could be a deep-league flyer. The Seahawks are yielding an elite 3.5 yards per carry, and Strong hasn't caught a pass all season. But . . . he was pretty active through the air in college, so don't assume he'll be limited to the ground game if Ford sits. A tough call for desperate managers.
And the biggest news for some of you might be the weather. There's been plenty of buzz about the Broncos-Chiefs matchup descending into a snow-covered mess. But let's remember this is Denver (ground crews are used to this stuff). Also, the latest hour-by-hour forecasts show that snow probability will decline to 15% by noon local time, down to 2% three hours later. So it's a good bet that snow will have a minimal-at-most impact on this game.
Obviously keep tabs this morning. But if you'd normally start Courtland Sutton or Jerry Jeudy, I still would. If you'd normally roll with Rashee Rice, go for it.
And I forgot to highlight the Giants-Jets yesterday. The Jets are three-point favorites. Breece Hall vs. Saquon Barkley. I'm taking the underdog Giants to win. It might not look pretty. But their defense has stepped up the last two games after looking anemic to start the season. And Tyrod Taylor has looked better than the injured Daniel Jones. I'm watching to see if Darren Waller can continue his resurgence, which largely started when Taylor took the helm. And for the Jets, surprisingly, keep tabs on Michael Carter. With rumors that Dalvin Cook might be moved in the next couple days, the multi-functional Carter could become a must-add in deep leagues as Hall's natural handcuff.
For DraftKings DFS 50/50's on the early games, I'm all in on Washington's passing attack to rebound against the Eagles' exposable pass D. Gimme Sam Howell, Breece Hall, Tony Pollard, A.J. Brown, Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, Dalton Schultz, Jordan Addison, and the Cowboys DST. If Washington comes up big, or even somewhat big, this lineup should hit big.
For the later-afternoon games, I've got Brock Purdy, Kenneth Walker, Kareem Hunt, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Brandon Aiyuk, Trey McBride, Jauan Jennings, and the Ravens DST. Purdy is now a full go after clearing the concussion protocol, and I'm banking on Hunt earning a majority of touches even if Ford plays. With Zach Ertz sidelined, McBride is a great add in deep leagues. And I'm stacking the Bengals' and 49ers' receiving corps in what could be a surprisingly high-scoring game. Don't sleep on Higgins! A breakout is coming.
Good luck today.
