This is the official launch of the first ever "PFN Bingo" competition. It's free, takes about five minutes to enter, and has never been played before. So if you finish on top, you'll end up in Wikipedia as the game's first winner. Or if not Wikipedia, then on your resume.
Here's the entry form:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13SZPKEL8x861lE5yy4_E8fPS5D9jVXmMf1d7BXi9Aws/edit#gid=1965249993.
And here's how it works:
(1) Open the link. You'll see I've set it so that anyone can edit it. This is the honor system. To enter, go to the "Entry Forms" tab, find an available "First Name" entry form, and plug in 25 player names: five QBs, five RBs, five WRs, five TEs, and any combo of five kickers and D/STs. Each player has to be different. If you plug in the same name anywhere, the cells will turn white. The "Sample Bingo Card" tab shows you what a completed entry looks like.
(2) But wait. Why wouldn't we just enter the best players? Check out the "ADP / "Multipliers" tab. Late last night I pulled ADP rankings from Fantasy Pros. Next to each name, you'll see their ADP and a "multiplier." This game uses PPR rules. So if Jonathan Taylor scores 320 PPR points, since he has a 1 multiplier, he'd give you 320 points. Saquon Barkley has a 1.22 multiplier. If he gets 263 points, we'd multiply that by 1.22, which would put him just ahead of Taylor.
That's obviously key to this game. You're not filling in the best players. You're filling in the best values. Sometimes the best player *is* the best value. But there's no obvious advantage to picking Taylor over, say, Dameon Pierce (1.68 multiplier) if you think Pierce will get about 180-190 fantasy points. So if you want to spend more than five minutes on your entry, scour the multipliers to find who you think are the best values.
(3) The winner is the person with the most points along any row, column, or diagonal. That means there's another layer of strategy to think about. For example, should you stack a QB and WR from the same team on the same row?
(4) If you want, message me when you're finished, and I'll copy/paste your entry into my own form, so that we have a backup copy. Or download, save, and e-mail me the file with your entry. Whatever you prefer. You don't have to message me. But it helps to make sure I've got your entry backed up. And once the season kicks off, I'll put all the entry forms in one View-only spreadsheet, so that we can track who's winning after each week.
If there's enough interest, I'll talk with PFN about whether we can introduce prize money next year. For now, again, it's free. Playing for pride. For glory. And maybe for a Wiki mention.
