Tonight's game seems tough to figure out. Russell Wilson's last good game was October 3rd. He hasn't looked right since returning from a finger injury. Alex Collins isn't an entirely reliable fantasy starter. Antonio Gibson has re-emerged, but is he really back to the Gibson of old? And a litany of questionable Washington receivers (Logan Thomas, Curtis Samuel, Adam Humphries, to name a few) could create fantasy chaos in what has been a fairly predictable, top-heavy offense.
It's too late for most of us to make start/sit decisions. Maybe a few of you have Collins and DeeJay Dallas. And maybe even one or two of you in very, very deep leagues took to heart what I wrote to August 16th: "2020 fourth-rounder DeeJay Dallas (RB-98) has nowhere to go but up after a poor rookie showing, while long-ago fifth-rounder Alex Collins (no ADP) has bellcow experience if this backfield becomes decimated by injuries--which very well could happen." Six days later, I wrote about Dallas along with 10 of my other favorite RB handcuffs, including Tony Pollard, Alexander Mattison, A.J. Dillon, and Chuba Hubbard.
So yeah, Dallas is an interesting fantasy player to watch tonight. We kind of know what Collins can do. But Dallas was a 2020 fourth-rounder for a reason. Maybe he'll carve out a 10+ touch role that could make him relevant down the stretch.
And don't sleep on Taylor Heinicke. He entered this week as the QB15 and could ascened to low-end QB1 status if he plays big tonight. I'm really impressed with what he's done, despite the injuries all around him. The same or more goes to Terry McLaurin; it's hard to imagine where this team would be without him and his 54-735-5 receiving line. The next best receiver based on stats, Adam Humphries, has 23 catches for 255 yards. That's a huge gap.
I'm picking Washington to win this one 27-22. I like Wilson bouncing back. I don't love Collins getting more than nine fantasy points. Gerald Everett has averaged six targets in his last two games (both with Wilson) versus less than three targets per game the rest of the season. So maybe Everett is fill a role that Chris Carson and his pass-catching abilities would have filled. Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic should combine for 22+ fantasy points; I just can't figure out who's getting the biggest bump, though Gibson clearly is the upside bet.
Leave your prediction below, and the winner will--as always--be rewarded tomorrow with web-based accolades.
