The Bucs avoided disaster last night, and fantasy managers have to content with an impending headache: How will we make sense of arguably the most stacked offense in the NFC--and possibly the league? In Kansas City we know Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are the primary movers, and we sense that Clyde Edwards-Helaire or Le'Veon Bell will be a fantasy starter most weeks, and we know Mecole Hardman and/or Demarcus Robinson will step up when Sammy Watkins is inevitably hurt.
But Tampa Bay is different. Even if Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones aren't reliable answers (I still prefer Fournette), next week this squad could have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Scotty Miller, and Gronk. Any of these five guys could lead the way any given week. Then (of course, with two of the five hurt) Jaydon Mickens leads the team last night in targets, while Tyler Johnson and Cameron Brate are red-zone TD threats.
If you're a Bucs fan (congrats Joel Verzosa), you're the happiest you've been in 18 years. But for everyone else, it's an epic cluster. We'll see if AB comes to play or complain, and we'll see if Evans and Godwin can stay healthy. For now, it's wait-and-see.
Meanwhile, the Giants face a mini-cluster of reduced talent: Darius Slayton, Golden Tate, Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram competing for the attention of Daniel Jones. With a date against Baltimore Week 16, no Giant is worth holding onto at this point. I mean, if you're in a deep league and need to ride Darius Slayton, go for it. But if you can jettison your Giants for market value and are in pretty good shape for the postseason, it's worth it.
And while Wayne Gallman was middling as usual, Devonta Freeman hasn't exactly earned a bellcow role. So don't expect him to return to 16+ touches quite yet.
Finally, the NFL trade deadline is today. This is the time of year when your #1 wideout suddenly becomes a #2 on his new team, or your 1A back becomes a 1B elsewhere. And of course, the reverse can happen. With several sellers in the league looking to clear cap space, expect some movement that could catapult some fringe fantasy assets (Tony Pollard anyone?) to must-startability.
