Matthew Stafford

This is my annual "Matthew Stafford gets no respect" column. I mean seriously, he was a QB1 in six of eight seasons heading into last summer, when his ADP was 25. I called him the most undervalued fantasy player, period, and for the first half of last season he was something like #3 or #4.

Then he got knocked out for the season, and now he's sitting at 13th in preseason ADP. I don't see the logic. The Lions invested a second-round pick in a terrific pass-catching back, D'Andre Swift. The team has one of the league's worst defenses. Stafford's top four receivers are returning, and two of them (Kenny Golladay and T.J. Hockenson) are ascending talents. Assuming health isn't an issue, in what world does Stafford *not* finish as a QB1?

Why do zero out of 133 experts (per Fantasy Pros) place him in the top 7? He's top-6 for me, ahead of presumptive QB1s like Josh Allen, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Carson Wentz, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and either Deshaun Watson or Russell Wilson. Stafford's a great bet for a 4,800/40 campaign.

I've made my points. Now turning to you: What am I missing?
