In a week devoted largely to transparency--outlining how my preseason predictions and rankings have worked out--my second-to-last column will return to current events. With a full slate of football on tap today, and a half-dozen or more teams *possibly* or *definitely* resting their players *all* or *some* of the game, this is easily the toughest week to analyze. John Kelly, anyone? Sean Mannion? Brandon Bolden?
There's a ton to speculate on, and very few definitive answers. And so my final DFS 50/50 Lineup of the Week this season targets players who *should* play the entire game. And all but one have strong double-digit potential. Last week's lineup collapsed under the weight of Chris Carson's injury and Russell Wilson's implosion. Hopefully I can end this segment on a high note.
QB Dak Prescott ($8,000) -- Only a couple weeks ago the Cowboys' offense led the NFL in yardage. I actually think the Giants are a better bet than people realize to upset the Eagles. Expect Dallas to throw everything at the hapless Redskins, and for Dak to play up to the contract he thinks he deserves.
RB Ezekiel Elliott ($8,700) -- A few backs who could run wild this week. Zeke is #1 on my list. Expecting a 40+ point effort for Dallas with Elliott accounting for 150+ yards and two scores.
RB Kerryon Johnson ($4,500) -- If the Lions decide to shelve Johnson only one week after his return, so be it. I'm banking on a dozen touches and 50+ yards, and maybe a score. Not bad at this price.
WR Kenny Golladay ($7,400) -- Surprisingly affordable in a plus matchup.
WR Julio Jones ($8,500) -- 300 yards on 35 targets these past two weeks. Incredible. He's eight receptions away from 100 on the year. Expect 10+.
WR Russell Gage ($5,300) -- A hedge in case Julio gets hurt. And against Tampa Bay's beatable passing D, this makes sense even if Julio's fine.
TE Dallas Goedert ($6,400) -- A must-win game. No Zach Ertz. Goedert realistically could be Week 17's #1 tight end. I seriously considered downgrading to the $4,700 Tyler Eifert and upgrading elsewhere. But Goedert is too tempting to pass up.
FLEX Breshad Perriman ($7,600) -- As much as I'd like to take the $100 cheaper Amari Cooper, Perriman is simply safer.
DST Cowboys ($3,600) -- Washington is down their starting QB and #1 receiver. Dallas is playing for everything. Either they'll show up big, or they'll wilt. I'm betting they'll show up big.
As always, good luck today. Tonight I'll try to run all the final numbers so I can present final results tomorrow--my last post of the season.
