My DFS 50/50 Lineup of the Week hit last Sunday, bringing my season total to 4-4-1. This week I've been toying with various hedges--like two guys from the same backfield--and have settled on the same receiver hedge that worked out last week. As always, I'm not entirely confident about it, but am as confident as I can be.
As always, these are based on FanDuel pricing. If you're over-budget using another DFS site, I'd suggest putting Alex Erickson in the Flex spot.
QB Lamar Jackson ($8,600) -- The most expensive QB this week is also the safest, and it doesn't hurt that he's facing the anemic Bengals.
RB Marlon Mack ($7,400) -- I feel better about starting him with Brian Hoyer under center: fewer QB rushing attempts (Jacoby Brissett's averaging nearly five per game) and a soft Miami D should give Mack touches and goal-line looks.
RB David Montgomery ($6,400) -- Too cheap to pass up.
WR Mike Evans ($8,600) -- When will the magic end? It'll be Chris Godwin's turn soon. But hard to ignore Evans' upside against the Cardinals.
WR Chris Godwin ($8,200) -- Well there you go.
WR Diontae Johnson ($4,700) -- I don't yet know the status of JuJu Smith-Schuster, so this is a bit of a dart throw, though his cheap price makes Johnson a worthwhile low-risk / medium-reward option.
TE O.J. Howard ($5,000) -- Almost swapped him out last-minute for the similarly priced Eric Ebron ($4,900). But sticking with Howard on the assumption that if Indy gets near the goal line, they'll take the ball out of Hoyer's hands. Ebron is a vocal squeaky wheel; Howard is a silent squeaky wheel with more upside.
FLEX Jaylen Samuels ($6,200) -- Safe. Maybe too safe at that price. He's also a slight hedge paired with Johnson.
DST Colts ($4,900) -- There aren't many solid DSTs this week. While Miami's averaged about 20 points per game in recent weeks, Ryan Fitzpatrick's boom-bust history makes Indy a potentially great start.
Good luck today.
