Around twice a season I make a quick appeal: If you're finding value here and want to contribute something, fantastic. There's a donate button near the top of www.fantasyfootballforwinners.com. During the season some of you give part of your winnings. Others wait 'til the end of the year. There's no pressure either way. Donations are always appreciated, but contributors and non-contributors will be treated the same regardless: access to daily content, answers to all your questions, etc.

And a reminder that if you're a Twitter person and want to access extra FF4W content, we're at _FF4W (remember the underscore). Some posts reinforce what's stated here. Others are more or less hot takes on things I'm observing. For example, early this past Sunday morning I warned on Twitter that the near-universal "Malcolm Brown set for featured role" narrative was flawed--that it was actually a hot-hand situation between him and the much-less-fantasy-rostered Darrell Henderson. Those who read it and acted on it--picking up Henderson on the cheap--netted some potential value heading into this weekend.

Speaking of observing things, there's plenty to digest as we approach Week 7. Still no official word on Will Dissly's injury, though Seattle expects it's serious. It's devastating for a guy who could be a terrific NFL tight end for years to come. D.K. Metcalf and Jaron Brown should get the biggest bumps in his absence.

Chris Thompson has turf toe, and not at the worst possible time, as Washington gears up to face San Francisco, Minnesota, and Buffalo before heading on their bye. As shared Monday, Adrian Peterson can't be counted on as more than an RB3/4 for the next month, and Wendell Smallwood should get 4-8 touches if Thompson sits.

Marcus Mariota has been benched for Ryan Tannehill. I'm actually really interested in seeing whether Corey Davis and/or A.J. Brown can become fantasy relevant. Remember, Davis posted a respectable 65/891/4 line last season and is only 24. Mariota's never thrown for 3,500+ yards. Tannehill's exceeded that mark three times, and he was on pace to do it another year if he hadn't gotten hurt.

Drew Brees is available in 28% of ESPN leagues. When he's expected to return in three weeks, he'll probably be available in 10% or less. Stash him while you can, if you have room. He'll face the defensively deprived Falcons weeks 10 and 13.

The underperforming Rams DST traded for Jalen Ramsey. Assuming he can get back on the field soon, this is a boost to people like me who drafted this DST expecting top-5 numbers. In their past three games, this defense has been on the field an average of 36 minutes--second most in the league.

Finally, a few words on the consensus preseason top-3 fantasy RBs. Saquon Barkley is nearing a return, while Alvin Kamara appears questionable this weekend with a high-ankle injury. That's basic stuff: either they'll play or they won't.

The tougher subject is Christian McCaffrey, who's posting historic-level numbers: 923 total yards and nine touchdowns in only six games. He's on pace for 2,461 yards, 93 receptions, and 24 scores. That would equate to 483 fantasy points. That would surpass LaDainian Tomlinson's record-setting 31-TD 2006 campaign. In his past 14 full games (Week 17's quick exit doesn't count), he's on pace for even more fantasy points (491).

Can he keep it up? Well, he's on pace for an astronomical 432 touches. In his final eight full games last year he managed a tolerable 23 touches per game. This year he's hitting 27 with no signs of slowing down. As super-human as he is, injuries to Barkley and Kamara remind us that every seemingly invincible player is anything but invincible. With San Francisco, Tennessee, and Green Bay coming after this week's bye, if you can land an RB1 and WR1 for him--for example, Le'Veon Bell and an underperforming DeAndre Hopkins, I'd cash out now.
