2019 Preview: New Preseason Players Spreadsheet, New Twitter Account, 50/50 DFS, Premier League

As many of you know, I always kick off the blogging season with an initial look at the fantasy outlooks of each NFL team’s key players (about 8-10 per team). These “32 Teams in 32 Days” columns will start tomorrow, running through Saturday, July 27. These write-ups will form the basis of my annual Contrarian Preseason Predictions, where I predict which players are vastly overvalued and which are vastly undervalued based on average draft position (ADP) and, often, expert rankings (100+ experts on other sites, as compiled by the Fantasy Pros website).

For the fourth straight year, I’ll be creating and continually updating a preseason players spreadsheet, and will be distributing it all summer to anyone who wants it. As always, you can sign up using the big blue box on http://www.fantasyfootballforwinners.com. You can donate whatever you want--whatever you think this will be worth to you. In the interest of full disclosure, there have been over 500 donations in the past three years, a majority of which have been from repeat customers. These contributions have ranged from $1 to over $100. Some people like to share a fraction of their previous season’s league or DFS winnings (if FF4W was helpful). Whatever your motivation, my goal is to make sure you’re getting your money’s worth.

With that in mind, I’ve retooled the preseason spreadsheet to make it a more valuable resource. Rather than rigidly define a top 300 that doesn't reflect what's happening in the draft room, the new spreadsheet defaults to the top 400+ by ADP. In other words, in your draft room, the best players remaining on the board will closely approximate the best players remaining on the FF4W spreadsheet. Except the spreadsheet highlights more than 100 players who are either “mildly undervalued,” “vastly undervalued,” “mildly overvalued,” or “vastly overvalued.” These designations will help you identify players to avoid in real time, as well as players to reach for a round or two early depending on draft flow.

The first iteration of this spreadsheet will be available to subscribers next Monday, and will continue right up until Week 1.

On another note, after six years of sharing fantasy insights on my personal @bjrudell Twitter account, I’ve finally created a Fantasy Football for Winners account: @_FF4W. (Note the underscore before “FF4W.”) Throughout the next 6+ months, me and some of the other FF4W guys will share additional insights there that you won’t always find on this page, so feel free to follow if you want a little more value from FF4W.

Also, I'm planning to bring back the DFS 50/50 Lineup of the Week for a third season. And I'm hoping to continue doing the Monday morning rundown of every Sunday team's most compelling fantasy impact. Finally, we're heading into Season 2 of the FF4W Premier Fantasy Football League. Last year featured 42 players in three 14-team divisions. This year we're expanding it to 84, separated into six divisions. At the end of each season, the best performers in each division move up, while the worst move down. If anyone's interested in joining in 2020, know what you're getting into by reviewing the league rules here: www.fantasyfootballforwinners.com/p/premier-league.html. Then e-mail me, and I'll follow up next June if there's room.

Tomorrow I’ll kick off “32 Teams in 32 Days” with a team clinging to a declining QB for one more season (or less).
