Week 11 Monday Night Football Recap and Free Agent Targets

Two teams had never each scored 50+ points in a game. Ever. Until last night.

Only Pat Mahomes could turn the ball over five times and still be fantasy's #1 QB for Week 11.

If you started, Sammy Watkins, my condolences.

Tyreek Hill enters the bye as fantasy's #1 WR by about 25 points (11% better than #2 Adam Thielen).

Todd Gurley's reported injury was never actually reported in real time, as far as I could find on Twitter. Did the announcers ever say anything? In a modern world where we know when a player has a paper cut, Gurley's extended absence and overall reduced role had millions of fantasy managers screaming in unison.

Finally, let's remember this was the Chiefs and Rams -- each among the league's best passing offenses and worst passing defenses. Each brilliant QB exposed the other's sub-par D. It was a perfect storm of greatness and futility. But man, how many of us are hoping to see these two play in February . . .

On to some wire guys I'm targeting this week. At QB, while it might take a season before Lamar Jackson (78% Available in ESPN Leagues) rounds into form, his remaining schedule is simply too generous to ignore: Raiders, Falcons, Chiefs, Bucs, Chargers. He's worth a flyer in nearly every league, though keep in mind he hasn't yet been named the Week 12 starter. And Jameis Winston (91% Available), the QB I've frequently called "overrated" the past three seasons, returns to the starting lineup with an abysmal TD/INT ratio, but a favorable three-game homestand. Surely Winston will prove me wrong.

At RB, Gus Edwards (100% Available) -- like teammate Lamar Jackson -- has arguably the best string of matchups around. if he can net 14+ touches a game, he'll be a worthwhile RB2/3 the rest of the way. In other words, keep expectations in check after his Week 11 breakout, but grab him if you're desperate for an upgrade over Derrick Henry, or even over LeSean McCoy most weeks. Meanwhile, with Kerryon Johnson shelved for a while, Theo Riddick (67% Available) should join Edwards in the RB2/3 conversation. I'm certainly not as high on LeGarrette Blount. And Malcolm Brown (94% Available) reminded us yesterday that he's one Gurley injury away from "help you win a title" status.

At WR, D.J. Moore (68% Available) -- one of my favorite Week 11 bargains -- has the talent and plus schedule to keep rolling as a streamer the rest of the way. Doug Baldwin (20% Available) should be added in all leagues. Ignore what he did thru Week 10. Embrace what he's done in previous years. As I stated over the weekend, he's one of my favorite bargain wideouts. And of course Tre'Quan Smith (87% Available) is a must-grab in deep leagues, with a clear advantage over the Saints' newly signed Brandon Marshall.

At TE, it's hilarious to see Jonnu Smith still available in 98% of leagues. If you're looking at season-long stats, of course he's unstartable. But if you've been reading this blog the past four weeks, you understood why he was trending up *before* he racked up three straight TE1 performances.
