Let's take a look around the league at some bargains and busts heading into Week 5:
Kicking things off, Andy Dalton (consensus 15th ranked Week 5 QB) will be a QB1 this week despite missing Tyler Eifert and Gio Bernard. Joe Mixon's return will more than keep Miami's run D offense, exposing Miami's sub-par pass D to an effective Cincy passing attack. Meanwhile, Russell Wilson (18th) has hit rock bottom, and he'll begin his ascent against the Rams. Despite his struggles, Wilson is a fantastic buy-low option; there's no way he's finishing this season outside the top 12.
On the flip side, Aaron Rodgers (7th) is down Randall Cobb and possibly Geronimo Allison. The opposing Lions have been tough against the pass and weak against the run. Expect Green Bay to do more damage on the ground, with Rodgers struggling to manufacture QB1 production.
At RB, Nick Chubb (54th) should get more work than he's used to against a Ravens D that should keep starter Carlos Hyde in check. Chubb will be a TD-dependent RB3/4. Bilal Powell (37th) will outperform expectations as Isaiah Crowell continues to struggle. And Austin Ekeler (33rd) is a fantastic flyer against an awful Oakland run defense.
On the flip side, experts a little too ambitious about T.J. Yeldon (10th). Even against a beatable Kansas City D, Yeldon is no better than a mid-range RB2. And Marshawn Lynch (14th) will fall back to earth in L.A. against the Chargers.
At WR, Cameron Meredith (73rd) continues to work his way into the Saints' rotation, making his ranking a complete oversight. Marquise Goodwin (61st) is a forgotten man in San Francisco. Sure, he could get re-injured in the first quarter. But a healthy Goodwin offers WR3/4 value and is worth starting in many leagues. And Taywan Taylor (45th) is underrated for the second straight week, while Jordy Nelson (39th) will be relevant once again.
On the flip side, this is the week John Brown (23rd) slows down, as Cleveland's defense should adjust, forcing Joe Flacco to throw to his underperforming playmakers.
At TE, C.J. Ozuomah (21st) is worth a flyer as a TD-dependent option and potential #3 target for Andy Dalton. And Geoff Swaim (19th) continues to be overlooked.
On the flip side, why is Nick Vannett the #16 TE this week? I can see him at #28.
