Sleeper Saturday: Underrated Week 6 Players

My latest 4-Minute, 44-Second podcast is up: https://soundcloud.com/user-780565013/week-6-fantasy-football-preview-bargains-and-busts. Plenty of bargains and busts heading into Sunday's games. Several of the bargains are available on waivers in many leagues, while many of the busts are every-week starters destined to disappoint.

One of the guys I highlight is the Lions' Theo Riddick. He broke out with 80 catches in 2015 and, had he stayed healthy last season, was on pace for 85. Yet this year the projection is down to 58. What's changed? Ameer Abdullah is healthy, while T.J. Jones and Kenny Golladay have given Matthew Stafford additional options in the passing game. But Abdullah's sub-4.0 YPC is something to monitor, as well as his team-low 6.8 yards per reception. Riddick gives Detroit a resource few teams have. I believe they'll start utilizing him more in the weeks ahead, starting Sunday.

With DeVante Parker earning a "doubtful" tag, Kenny Stills is a good flyer tomorrow. I keep waiting for the day when Jay Cutler enters the broadcast booth. Until then, it's fair to say that either Stills or Jarvis Landry will be startable; considering Stills is ESPN's 55th ranked wideout this week, that's a coin flip worth betting on if you can't find a WR3/4.

Mike Wallace is ranked 41st this week. He's gone off the last two games and is a Nelson Agholor-like play this weekend--a guy likely to get 3-5 catches and a score.

If the Patriots manhandle the Jets, Dion Lewis stands to benefit. I'm not encouraging folks to run out and plug in Lewis. But if you're trying to plug a hole at your #2 RB position because there's no other starting RB on your roster, you're betting on 10 or more garbage-time touches for Lewis. This week's 51st ranked RB is essentially a higher-upside dart throw than 10-15 RBs ahead of him on ESPN's rankings.

Do not sleep on Benjamin Watson, ranked 17th among TEs in Week 6. The same goes for the 18th ranked Austin Hooper. Both guys have higher-than-usual red-zone appeal.

At QB, you might know where I'm headed: the 20th ranked Joe Flacco. This is probably the one time I'll recommend him as a top 14 QB. His completion percentage has been outstanding in three of the past four games, translating into three 200+ yard games. Nothing to get excited about, I know. But he can't keep this up without finally breaking through. Tomorrow, he'll break through.
