Latest Bargains/Busts Podcast, and DFS 50/50 Lineup of the Week

My #1 goal each season is not to win my league (though, let's face it, I'm working my butt off to do that). No, my top goal is doing right by the FF4W community. Sounds corny and possibly over-the-top, but it's not. Here's one example:

My primary waiver target after David Johnson's Week 1 injury was Andre Ellington, but an opponent snagged him. I was ticked. Having taken Johnson with the first overall pick, I believed Ellington was the best healthy RB in Arizona's backfield, with surprising RB2 potential.

Despite missing out on my top target, I started pushing Ellington on this page, on Twitter, and in my podcast. Every week. Often throughout every week. He was an example of an under-rostered, under-appreciated fantasy talent who, literally, no one else was pushing with FF4W's fervor and consistency. And as his numbers have improved each week, one might think I'd be pissed: "He should have been helping my team." But really, that's irrelevant. If even only a handful of the 17,000 of you--particularly in PPR--added Ellington in recent weeks, that's what makes me happiest. That's what keeps me focused on this venture every day, nearly seven months a year.

And until Ellington and other undervalued players get the love they deserve, I'll keep pushing them as contrarian fantasy assets.

Finally, last week's DFS 50/50 Lineup of the Week was right on the cusp of winning (some hit; others didn't). That's not good enough. This week's lineup--with pricing based on Fan Duel--offers elite-level talent mixed with a few underrated bargains:

QB Eli Manning ($7,000) -- The much-maligned QB was one of my undervalued targets this preseason. He's a locked-in top 14 QB this week and, based on his weapons, is often well positioned for top 8-10 production.

RB Ezekiel Elliott ($8,900) -- Will he or won't he be suspended? Today, at least, it doesn't matter: he'll be the focal point against a beatable Green Bay D.

RB Melvin Gordon ($7,100) -- As referenced in this weekend's podcast, Gordon is crazy-cheap given his upside. Last week's letdown is not the new norm. Gordon will earn 22+ touches and top 8 RB numbers.

WR Jordy Nelson ($8,600) -- Barring an injury, one of the safest WR plays one can make.

WR TY Hilton ($7,300) -- Stupid cheap. Hilton will be Jacoby Brissett's most-targeted receiver against the Niners D that can't stop him.

WR Stefon Diggs ($7,200) -- His upside his obvious. With Dalvin Cook out, he's also the best bet to lead Minnesota's rushers/receivers in fantasy points.

TE David Njoku ($4,500) -- In hindsight, I should have pushed him in this week's podcast. What's plain as day is that Cleveland needs receivers to step up with Corey Coleman and now Kenny Britt sidelined. Njoku's targets should rise today, and at that basement price, he's an easily affordable dart throw.

K Aldrick Rosas ($4,500) -- This is somewhat of a hedge; either Eli will get a few TDs, or Rosas will kick several field goals. In a 50/50 contest, a QB and kicker combining for 30+ points is very good.

DST Steelers ($4,800) -- Contain Leonard Fournette, and you win. Easier said than done. But the Steelers are home after three of four games on the road; their defense is better than the fantasy stats suggest.
