Guys to Target on Waivers Heading Into Week 7

If you played my Ideal Week 6 DFS 50/50 Lineup this past weekend, you scored big--or if you're like me, you nearly doubled your four $1 bets (truth be told, I'm not much of a gambler). Kirk Cousins, Jerick McKinnon, Austin Hooper, and the Ravens DST all performed far better than expected, while Leonard Fournette did Leonard Fournette-type things. Ironically, my supposedly stellar receiver corps of Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, and Keenan Allen were mediocre at best. Still, this lineup consistently finished in the top 10%-15%. I'll do it again next weekend.

Similarly, my podcast bargains/busts fared well, with 11 hits on 16 predictions. I've been hitting 65%+ most weeks and will roll out another batch on Saturday. Keep (or start) listening and tell me what you think. I have very little spare time these days to do anything new, so I want to make sure this is worth the time investment.

Looking ahead at waiver targets, here are some guys I'm monitoring closely:

Matt Breida (available in 76% of ESPN leagues) remains one of fantasy's top handcuffs and continues to run far more effectively than Carlos Hyde. Breida will be a top 25 RB if Hyde gets hurt or traded--one of which is a decent probability.

Chris Ivory (95% available) -- Leonard Fournette twisted his ankle Sunday. Not a big deal, right? Except Ivory's been averaging nine touches a game all season and stands to be a 16+ touch RB if Fournette ever misses time. As a potentially valuable handcuff, Ivory should be rostered in a lot more leagues.

Marvin Jones (37% available) will become Matthew Stafford's #1 target while Golden Tate's sidelined. Jones is already posting WR3/4 numbers and should be an easy WR2/3 in the near term.

Remember Corey Davis (74% available)? A hamstring injury has curtailed what had appeared Week 1 to be a promising rookie season. Eric Decker isn't turning heads, and the aging Delanie Walker has taken a step back. David is well positioned to be, at minimum, a situational WR3/4 when he returns.

I'll keep pushing Nelson Agholor (64% available) until he gets the fantasy love he deserves.

With a new QB in San Francisco, George Kittle (91% available) enters the streaming TE1 conversation. He's not there yet. But another good game or two would make him a must-add in most leagues.

Samaje Perine (55% available) is a solid trade-bait pickup. In other words, he likely won't be an RB3+ most of the rest of the season, but at least one of your opponents might think otherwise.

Speaking of trade bait, while Orleans Darkwa and Matt Forte are getting a ton of buzz coming off their better-than-expected Week 6 efforts, don't buy into the hype. For the former, the Giants' offense remains a mess, and Darkwa has neither the upper-tier talent nor surrounding complementary players to be an RB2+. The Broncos game was a fluke, in that future defenses will focus more on the run and will force guys like Roger Lewis and Tavarres King try to beat them. And for Forte, the veteran will be rejoined by Bilal Powell as soon as this weekend, rendering him unstartable most weeks.

In other news, most of the remaining FF4W Survivor Pool contestants lost this past weekend. Now only three remain:

  1. Joe Dogg's Fabulous Pick Set
  2. Yakeanbake
  3. The Neidhawks

Who are these three anonymous finalists? I have no idea. So if you're one of them and want to make yourself known, give a shout.
