Overrated and Underrated Week 10 RBs

Let’s look at overrated and underrated Week 10 RBs. I’ve got one (Todd Gurley) who I’m debating benching. This is apparently top-of-mind stuff for many of us.

In the overrated camp, ESPN’s 9th ranked RB LeGarrette Blount has scored in all but one game this season. Incredible. But his 3.8 YPC and Seattle’s elite run defense form a bad combination. I like Blount as a TD-dependent RB2; RB1 is a stretch.

Gurley (ESPN’s 14th ranked RB) missed Wednesday’s practice in what was reportedly for precautionary purposes. On pace for 292 carries and a benchable 3.1 YPC, his road matchup against the Jets is enough to make even the toughest fantasy manager cry.

Christine Michael (ESPN’s 18th ranked RB) is dangerously close to fantasy irrelevance. C.J. Prosise could get more run, while Thomas Rawls is easing back into practice. I wrote several weeks ago that Rawls wasn’t worth a stash—that Michael was running away with the starting job. TDs aside (six on the season), Michaels’ usage continues to decline. A tough Patriots D will sap him of any value he might otherwise have had.

Isaiah Crowell’s (ESPN’s 22nd ranked RB) torrid first four weeks are a distant memory. In four of five games since he’s rushed 39 times for 71 yards (1.8 YPC). Baltimore will continue this trend, limiting Crowell to five points or less.

In the underrated camp, if Kenneth Dixon (ESPN’s 44th ranked RB) suits up, he’ll be a solid flex play against the Browns.

The versatility of C.J. Prosise (ESPN’s 41st ranked RB) makes him a decent RB3 flyer even against New England—particularly in PPR leagues.

While I chose not to invest in Kapri Bibbs (37th ranked RB) via waivers, his Week 10 ranking is too low. Even 10 touches against the Saints could push him into the top 25-30.

If Carlos Hyde sits, DuJuan Harris (36th ranked RB) is an adequate replacement, as a tough road matchup against the Cardinals would limit his upside.
