In this edition of the Tuesday Trader, I want to look at undervalued
WRs to target and overvalued WRs to trade away.
First, the guys I’m trying to get:
Brandon Marshall – Six of his next seven games are virtual cakewalks. I just offered Golden Tate and Allen Hurns for
Marshall and Wendell Smallwood, hoping that the specter of Ryan Fitzpatrick at
QB frightens him enough to approve the deal.
Alshon Jeffery – He’s in a similar boat as Marshall, with Jay Cutler mercifully
scheduled to retake the helm from Matt Barkley.
Yes folks, the Matt Barkley Era is over.
The Jay Cutler Era is, by default, here to stay.
Stefon Diggs – Of course Diggs couldn’t sustain his torrid start to the
season. And of course he’s a great bet
to get back on track. I’m eyeing WR3
numbers the rest of the way, and you should be able to get him for a bit less.
On the flip side, here are a couple of WRs I’d sell before their value
drops:
Jordan Matthews – He had his first clunker of the season on Sunday, so
it’s not too late to pull in RB3 or WR3 value for him. The bigger worry is his knee tendinitis and a
report that the Eagles and 49ers are discussing a trade for Torrey Smith. As I shared yesterday, Carson Wentz isn’t
delivering big games for his wideouts; Matthews is a bigger risk than I want to
have on my roster.
Cole Beasley – Dez Bryant is expected to return this weekend, pushing
Beasley off the WR3 radar. A WR-needy
opponent who doesn’t trust Dez’s health might give you decent value for Beasley.
