Week 3 DFS bargain hunting? Let’s look at
some guys primed to exceed expectations.
I’ve included parenthetical fees aligning with Fan Duel pricing:
- QB Brian Hoyer ($6,000) – If Jay Cutler sits, Hoyer has enough weapons
to get a couple of scores against a middling Dallas D. 16-20 points at that price—or as a
last-minute waiver add—is a steal.
- QB Ryan Tannehill ($7,400) – The 16th most expensive DFS QB
will be a top 8 QB this week. I’ll keep
clanging the bell until he gets the fantasy love he deserves.
- RB Cameron Artis-Payne ($4,800) – Bad matchup. Likely splitting carries with Fozzy Whittaker. But a very inexpensive way to roll the dice on
40-50 yards and a cheap TD.
- RB Dwayne Washington ($4,500) – While I’m not expecting a big game from
Washington, he’s dirt cheap in DFS. Worst
case, he gets 6-10 points and you lean on a bunch of fantasy studs to carry
your team the rest of the way.
- RB Alfred Morris ($5,400) – Will Morris take a larger backfield role if
Ezekiel Elliott’s two-fumble performance?
Boom-bust is the name of the game in DFS, and Morris is the very
definition of it this week.
- RB Christine Michael ($6,900) – There are 12 RBs more expensive than
Michael, but I think he’ll post top 6 RB numbers this week in what should be a
dominating Seahawk performance.
- WR Phillip Dorsett ($6,000) – I was envious when an opponent drafted
Dorsett this preseason. I felt pained
when Donte Moncrief got hurt, moving Dorsett to the Colts’ starting
lineup. He’s a near lock for top 30 WR
numbers this week and at that price is a must-start in DFS.
- WR Cole Beasley ($5,100) – He’s getting too many targets to be that
inexpensive. I just picked him up in my
league and am starting him in my flex spot.
The Bears’ D gives him a good shot at 12+ points.
- WR Marqise Lee ($4,500) – Lee probably won’t go off this week. But make no mistake: he’s here to stay. After two injury-plagued seasons, Lee is
finally making good on his rookie-year hype (yes, he had hype).
- TE Hunter Henry ($4,500) – Is the Antonio Gates Era over in San
Diego? Henry is the heir-apparent, and with
Gates doubtful to play, Sunday we’ll likely see the rookie starting against a
beatable Colts D.
- TE Trey Burton ($4,500) – I wrongly thought Brent Celek would inherit
Zach Ertz’s targets last week. Burton is
a great streamer in DFS and league play.
- TE Jimmy Graham ($5,200) – Graham remains a wait-and-see option in
regular leagues while working his way back from a brutal injury. However, he’s a cheap DFS play given his
enormous upside as a guy who could see 3-4 red zone targets against a bad
Niners defense.
- Finally, the Seahawks ($5,400) and the Dolphins ($4,600) are
elite DST options this week. In DFS,
don’t cheap out on defense; the cost difference between the best and the worst
is miniscule when you consider their gap in production. Take one of these D’s and walk away with
15-20 points.
