Final Week 9 Predictions

It's once again the best time of the week.  All anticipation, no heartache (unless you're relying on T.Y. Hilton).  Looking around the league . . .

-- Marquess Wilson will start in a fantastic matchup Monday, as Eddie Royal is sidelined with a knee injury.  With Matt Forte also out, Wilson has the chance to be Jay Cutler's #2 target.  He's a must-start streamer in deeper leagues and is a terrific DFS play.

-- Rueben Randle is now expected to start today.  If you're willing to take the risk that his hamstring will hold up, he's a largely forgotten WR3/4 in a favorable matchup.

-- Austin Seferian-Jenkins is likely to sit again this week.  Expect a 100+ yard, 1+ TD day for Mike Evans, as Tampa Bay's offense gets back on track (a little).  And the largely unknown TE Cameron Brate (48 yards and a TD in Week 8) becomes the cheapest, most desperate TE start for those seeking an all-or-nothing TE option.

-- Drew Brees had eight TDs in his first six games this season--then went off for seven last week.  Now an aged version of his former self, Brees shouldn't be mistaken for being an every-week starter.  Maybe I should be jumping on the bandwagon, but in a season where about 20 QBs have top 8 potential each week, Brees is a situational start only.  His Week 9 matchup is favorable, but I don't see him getting more than two TDs.

-- Two days ago, a guy in my 20-team league offered me Emmanuel Sanders and Jonas Gray for Stevie Johnson and LeGarrette Blount.  Before I could laugh it off, his reasoning was that "Sanders is the best player in this trade."  I pointed out that Blount has scored more points per game than Sanders.  The dialogue ended.

The point is that Blount has 62 points in six games--and really, five games when you consider Belichick didn't really play him in his first game back from suspension.  Few RBs have more upside any given week.  I'm predicting 18+ points for Blount this week--a reminder that, despite playing in Belichick's fickle backfield system, he has RB1 potential most weeks.
