The Falcons are only 7-point favorites vs. the Bucs, but I'm envisioning a 20+ point win. Why should that matter to RB-needy fantasy managers? Tevin Coleman is in line for second half mop-up duty. After starting earlier this season, the rookie has taken a huge backseat to Devonta Freeman. But Coleman could get 12+ touches against a terrible defense, meaning 7+ points is possible. That's a chance some desperate people should take--especially in daily leagues, where he's incredibly cheap.
Orleans Dykstra remains an RB to watch. If he gets more touches this week and plays decently, he’s worth an add in most leagues. He's a desperation start because the Giants' backfield has no clear leader. But the fact that this could change this weekend makes him a top target for those with bench space who need an RB.
Dez Bryant is expected to return Week 8, which puts Matt Cassel on the QB2 radar for you two-QB leaguers--maybe not this week, but absolutely in weeks 9 and 10, when he has favorable contests against the Eagles and Bucs.
Ben Roethlisberger was my third ranked fantasy QB this preseason. Amazingly, he’s unowned in nearly 12% of ESPN leagues. If you're leaning on a low-end QB1 or worse, I strongly suggest adding Ben, or trading for him if the price isn’t too high. He can help you win a title.
I'd trade James Jones ASAP for a WR2 or comparable player, if possible. Jones' numbers are unsustainable, particularly once Eddie Lacy and Randall Cobb get healthy. And guess what: Both Lacy and Cobb might have gotten much healthier on the bye week. Remains to be seen whether they can return to form, but they should be primary trade targets. If your opponents value these players less than where they should be valued (RB1, WR1/2), get them.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins appears healthy and is expected to take the field Sunday for the first time since Week 2. With the Bucs’ receivers decimated by injuries (they have only two healthy ones), ASJ’s upside is 15 points or higher. Not saying he’ll get 15 points. But if I were starting a low-end TE1 this week, I’d rather take a chance on ASJ in his first game back. 6+ catches on 8+ targets for 70+ yards is entirely realistic.
