Don't get mad. Get better.
Every game is an opportunity to improve your team, whether through trades or free agency. With respect to trades, a key to improving your team is to identify which of your players are more overrated than other people realize, and which of your opponents' players are more underrated than they realize.
It's that simple.
So if you lose this week, don't get mad. Improve your team. Identify who on your roster has bloated value. Maybe your top 12 tight end went off for 30 yards and two scores. Is he likely to come close to replicating that the rest of the season? In all likelihood, no. So do the research to verify that, and then casually shop the TE to land an upgrade.
What kind of upgrade? The kind your opponent doesn't suspect. How many people gave up on Eddie Lacy last season after his slow start? How many got frustrated when the Seahawks D looked pedestrian early? Both came on strong the rest of the season. Those who capitalized on owner disgust got better. Much better.
There's a psychology to successful fantasy footballing. Champions prey on the weak-minded, insecure, and emotionally unstable. Seize on your opponents' fears--that their second round pick is turning out to be a total bust--and be the champion you deserve.
