Well, Julius Thomas is likely out for 4-5 weeks with a finger tendon injury (he's getting a second opinion). So for those of you who drafted him (and as many of you saw, I did), it's now a much easier decision to drop him for a free agent--namely, Vernon Davis, who should be available in nearly every league. I'm now the proud manager of Davis, making me much less of a hypocrite than I was a week ago.
Montee Ball is now officially Denver's #4 RB. If he doesn't make the 53-man roster, I'd be shocked if another team didn't grab him. Buffalo (minus Fred Jackson), Dallas (a troubling RBBC), and Cleveland (an even more troubling RBBC) might take a chance on him. Or Oakland could decide that Latavius Murray needs a better backup than the historically lightly used Roy Helu.
If you're like me and got stuck with a streaming kicker in one of your leagues, take a look at Josh Scobee. The Steelers just acquired him. He's 33 and, aside from last season, has been very consistent in recent years, including from 50+. Given the team's scoring potential, Scobee is now on the door of my top 250 list, ranked #11 among kickers.
Speaking of which, as always, you can find the up-to-the-minute (somewhat) top 250 rankings here:
