Top 50 Bold Preseason Predictions:
After a two-day "break" to discuss draft strategy and injury implications, we're returning to the top 50 with a shift to the NFC North--specifically, the underrated and enigmatic Chicago Bears.
(32) Jay Cutler -- QB21 ADP
Prediction: Top 14 QB
The Bears last made the playoffs in 2010, when they were 10-5. Fifth-year QB Jay Cutler threw for 3,274 yards that season and posted a 23/16 TD/INT ratio. Life was good in Chicago. In the debacle that was 2014, the 5-10 Bears’ QB—the same Jay Cutler—threw for 3,812 yards and logged a career-high 28 TDs to go with 18 INTs. For all the flack Cutler gets (and he deserves a decent chunk of it), this is who he is. Don't expect a terrible season. Don't expect a brilliant season. Expect a low-end QB1 season, which is far better than nearly every drafter and expert is willing to venture.
(33) Kevin White -- WR32 ADP
Prediction: Not a top 50 WR
White's ADP is ridiculously generous. Ain't gonna happen. Not even close. The coaching staff doesn't look too kindly on rookie WRs, and he could miss the entire preseason with shin splints. It's a recipe for disaster for everyone who's drafted him. For the rest of us, we can gloat after we grab Eddie Royal instead.
(34) Eddie Royal -- WR74 ADP
Prediction: Top 45 ADP
Speaking of Royal, what's up with his ADP? Most experts won't touch him inside the top 60. He's the #2 wideout on a team that'll need to pass the ball fairly often. He's too talented to ignore, and too needed in that offense. Go big and grab Royal near the end of your draft, and lock up your flex spot without breaking a sweat.
