Bold Predictions: Danny Woodhead and Stevie Johnson

Top 50 Bold Preseason Predictions:

We wrap up the AFC West--and the entire AFC--with two bold Charger predictions.  This team tied for 14th in TDs in 2014, even though injuries and erratic play significantly limited their production.  Many anticipate a similarly mediocre offense this season.  I see a team that--owning one of the league's worst defenses--will improve on last year's 21.75 points per game.

(21) Danny Woodhead -- RB59 ADP
Prediction: Top 40 RB

Woodhead suffered a fractured fibula in Week 3 last season and missed the rest of the year. He was coming off a 6-TD performance in 2013. While this adept pass-catching veteran's ceiling is capped, four to six scores are realistic. And for you PPR'ers, he's a late-round steal.  Given where he's falling in most drafts, you can grab him near the end and should benefit from occasional RB2 production.

(22) Stevie Johnson -- WR70 ADP
Prediction: Top 45 WR

On paper, Johnson is his team's #3 wideout in a system where there are plenty of mouths to feed. But the oft-injured #2 WR Malcom Floyd is retiring after this season, and I suspect he won't approach last year's production.  it wasn't long ago that the 29-year-old Johnson was a consistent 1,000-yard performer. He's the Chargers' second most talented WR and will finish second on the team in targets, receiving yards, and receiving TDs, which will make him useful as, at minimum, a WR4.  He has low-end WR2 upside in this offense.  Few receivers are more undervalued.
