Bold Prediction: Texans DST

Top 10 Unconventional Fantasy Predictions:
#8 . . .

The Texans will finish this season among the top 5 DST fantasy scorers. Most experts place them 10th or beyond. What they forget is that this is a D ranked 3rd by many 2013 preseason "experts."

Their downfall was a combination of a poor-performing QB, sub-par rushing, and too many ill-timed turnovers. Remember those four straights games with a pick-six? The fact is, Houston's D was hurt not entirely because of underperforming personnel, but because of a fairly bad offense.

Houston's D ranked 3rd in first downs surrendered per game, third in interceptions, and 7th in yards allowed per game. The addition of Jadeveon Clowney and a healthy Brian Cushing should strengthen the D considerably.

Finally, there's Houston's schedule: as easy as any in the NFL: Washington, Oakland, New York Giants, Buffalo . . . and that's just the first four weeks. Toss in a tilt vs. Cleveland and four total against Jacksonville and Tennessee, and it wouldn't be surprising if Houston led the league in turnovers, helping you win a title with a near-elite DST grabbed in your draft's second-to-last round.

Winning is not about going with the grain; it's about going against it at the right time with the right personnel. I nailed 8 out of 10 bold picks last year. You can be a winner if you do your research and, most importantly, trust your research.
