Why Tom Brady Will Rebound

Tom Brady will be a top 10 QB in the second half of this season.  Smart fantasy competitors are searching for huge-upside underperformers and trading for them.  Brady is near the top of this list.

Brady's 75.3 QB rating is more than 20 points off his career average and more than 10 points off his worst full season.  He is not nearly as bad as his numbers suggest.  He will not finish the season with only 17 TD passes (his current pace).

Sure, some might argue that Brady is not as accurate as he used to be--that his arm has lost a step (bad word choice, but you get the idea).  However, the losses of Wes Welker, Aaron Hernandez, and Rob Gronkowski (until last week) clearly took their toll.  Brady and the Patriots have been relying largely on guys with no prior NFL experience.

Gronk's return can hardly be quantified in that offense, with 17 targets in Week 7--the #1 receiver Brady has been missing.  Danny Amendola might not remain healthy for long.  But a Gronk/Amendola tandem--for however long it exists--will give Brady and his fantasy owners a passing attack more closely resembling what we've seen in years past.
