Bold Predictions: Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady

Top 10 Unconventional Fantasy Predictions:

#10 . . .

This season's presumptive top 3 fantasy QBs--according to numerous "experts"--will be Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady.  I'm here to tell you that this won't come to fruition.  At least 2 of these guys will finish outside the top 5.

Outside of Rodgers' incredible 2011 season, he's averaged under 4,172 yards and 31 TDs per year.  Last year 7 guys threw for more yards, while 31 TDs would have been good for 5th among QBs.  Is he great?  Yes.  Will he be a top 3 fantasy QB?  I doubt it, as he's lost his #1 offensive weapon (Greg Jennings), while Matt Ryan, Tony Romo, and just as capable of reaching the top 3.

The previous two seasons of Drew Brees' Hall-of-Fame career have proven to be his best.  But declining Marquis Colston is a year older and a year slower.  Lance Moore is unproven as the #2 WR.  Yes, Jimmy Graham should dominate, while Darren Sproles should continue to pick up yards and TDs after the catch.  But Brees is no lock for a repeat performance.  A return to pre-2011 levels is a decent bet.

Brady's a sleeper as a #7 or #8 fantasy QB.  But #3?  Without Welker and Hernandez?  With Gronkowski's health in question?  With Amendola's health always a question?  Brady could remain an elite fantasy producer.  But don't draft him in the 1st or 2nd round.

Draft these guys early at your own peril.  You heard it here first.
